Culture
The fine arts are the most well-known cultural influence in the twin-city, and Winston-Salem is sometimes referred to as the "City of the Arts." The city is home to a number of art schools, including the North Carolina School of the Arts, The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem and the Piedmont Opera Theater. Galleries abound in the arts district, and the city is host to a number of festivals throughout the year, including the National Black Theatre Festival, the RiverRun International Film Festival and the Revolve Film and Music Festival.
